1. Who We Are

The Button Method is operated by Bloom Boom Consulting Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for the personal data we collect from you through the app and this website.

2. What We Collect and Why

  • Account information (email, display name, hashed password, or Google sign-in identifier) — to create your account, sign you in, and let you save your data across devices. Legal basis: contract performance.
  • Your content (button presses, custom buttons, check-ins, settings) — to provide the service to you. Legal basis: contract performance.
  • Sensitive content you choose to share (journal and reflection entries within paid program modules such as The Sex Ban™ and Behind Closed Doors, which may include sensitive personal information about your intimate life or relationships; and your phone number, if you'd like program content delivered by SMS as a backup to push notifications) — we only collect these because you've actively chosen to use these specific features. Legal basis: explicit consent — you can withdraw this at any time by deleting your entries or contacting us at support@pressdifferently.com to stop SMS delivery.
  • Device & usage data (IP address, browser/device type, basic logs, push-notification subscription if you enable reminders) — for security, fraud prevention, and reliability. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • Support messages you send us — to answer your questions. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

Payment-card details are collected and processed directly by Paddle as Merchant of Record. We never see or store your card number.

3. Who We Share Data With

  • Hosting & infrastructure providers (database, file storage, push delivery) — to operate the service.
  • Paddle (Merchant of Record) — for checkout, subscription management, payments, invoicing, refunds, and tax compliance.
  • Google — if you choose to sign in with Google, for authentication only.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) — only when needed.
  • Authorities — only where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. International Transfers

Some of our service providers (including Paddle) are based outside your country of residence. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or other appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.

5. How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Account & content data: while your account is active.
  • After account deletion: removed or anonymised within 90 days, except where we must keep records to meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations. You can request deletion at any time via our Delete Account form.
  • Support emails: up to 24 months.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw any consent you have given. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@pressdifferently.com. We aim to respond within one month.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level database security — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

8. Cookies & Local Storage

We use essential cookies and local/browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Paddle may set its own cookies during checkout.

9. Children

The service is intended for adults. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this notice. Material changes will be communicated through the app, this site, or by email.

1. Who You're Contracting With

The Button Method is operated by Bloom Boom Consulting Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the app, this site, or any paid feature, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. The Service

The Button Method is a self-guided method for noticing patterns, choosing micro-actions, and journaling about your responses. It is not therapy, not crisis support, and not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or legal advice. If you are in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the service for any unlawful purpose, fraud, or spam;
  • infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
  • attempt to interfere with the security or integrity of the service (probing, scraping, malware, reverse-engineering);
  • resell, redistribute, or share paid content with people who haven't paid for access.

4. Intellectual Property

The Button Method™ name, written content, button system, scenarios, journals, prompts, branding, and software are owned by Bloom Boom Consulting Pty Ltd. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your personal, non-commercial use within the plan you have paid for. Anything you write into your own journal or custom buttons stays yours — we host and process it only to provide the service to you.

5. Payments, Subscriptions & Refunds

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders and handles all customer service inquiries, payments, billing, taxes, and cancellations. Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval shown at checkout until canceled. You can cancel at any time from your account page or via paddle.net.

6. Account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Please give us accurate information and keep it up to date.

7. Service Level & Warranties

We work hard to keep the service available and accurate, but we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, all implied warranties (including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) are disclaimed.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months immediately before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence where such limitation is prohibited by law.

9. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated/serious policy violations. On termination, your paid access ends at the end of the current billing period and your personal journal data will be deleted within 90 days unless you request export sooner. You may also stop using the app and request deletion of your account at any time via our Delete Account form.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app, this site, or by email.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, based on our registered place of business. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

If you'd like to permanently delete your Button Method account and associated data, please submit the form below. We will process your request and confirm once your data has been removed, in line with our Privacy Policy.
